Details: Antique sterling silver tongs by Gorham circa 1871, most likely produced before the company's move to their headquarters in Providence, RI. In the latter half of the 19th century and into the 20th Gorham became an international presence. attracting some of the best silversmiths and designers in the world and creating one of a kind pieces for major world figures and events. This beautifully crafted example features classic Victorian decoration and a detailed pierced design. Gorham hallmarks and "Sterling" can be seen on the inside of the neck.
